So a 1hr slice is the same as a 5min slice ? I guess it depends on whether the
reference is the big hand or the little hand.

When it comes to cutting pies and cakes we use the 'minutes in the hour'
division principle. e.g. "I'll have a 10-minute slice please". It seems to
work with everyone - I guess we can all visualise a clock face and its division
into 12 segments. And of course 12 is divisible by 2, 3, 4 and 6
:-)
