When I was on a Coast Guard Cutter in the Hawaiian Islands, we anchored off Lahaina, Maui so the Captain could take a
boat in to have breakfast with a friend who lived there. The five inch gun in the turret on our foredeck was a far
greater potential threat to a coastal city than anything an Apache carries.
Sometimes a serious military visitor is just a convenient ride, for those with rank. We were painted white, so not so
scary in aspect.
