I agree with your number, if it is Atesian. What is the pressure at the
surface? Will it require a pump?
Oh yes. The guys dropped a nice 1 1/4hp SS Grundfos in the hole after
the rig left.

The drilling is done in 20' steel sections + 5' with the bit. The pump
is connected to 20' lengths of schedule 80 PVC and so ends up just up
off the bottom. No cutting. The water level usually varies with the time
of year and the hole acts as a long skinny reservoir. My well has been
low priority since I do have water. Al (driller) has been concentrating
on wells that were sucking air during the last couple of dry years. A
lot of old wells need to be deepened. The pump is pushing against 425'
or so of head max (which is what you have to design for), less whatever
assist you get from the water column, up to the pressure tank at the
house set @ 70/50lbs. ~15lbs/30' + line loss. Hence the 1 1/4hp pump.
I'm currently using a 3/4hp jet pump set at 60/40 now but only pushing
up about 35ft. Still that means only 25lbs dynamic pressure at the house
so I have a little centrifugal Davie booster pump which gets us to about
80lbs. Too much really and I should have installed a pressure reducer.
But I like fire hose showers that hold you up against the wall :)
We've had the winter that CA was supposed to get :( so the ground is too
wet to dig ditches yet. Well, actually I could dig the short ditch for
the water/electrical lines but I want to rent the excavator for a week
and do some other work around the place while I'm at it. We'll probably
share some hours with the neighbors too.
