Moose,
I have about come to the same conclusion as you. I saw reference to
PTLens 9.0, which is apparently the latest. I think, at $25, it is my
preference. My next question is, do I still have Winzip on my machine?
I think, from the teasers I have seen, that it may have expired. One
more thing to check................. :-)

Thanks, Moose. I looked at both PTLens 8.9
PTLens is at 9.0 now.
and DxO Viewpoint on-line.
I seem to recall it's first iteration was about perspective
correction. Ah yes, I see in the photo-i review of the original there
was no lens correction. Had it been there, I might not now own DxO
Optics Pro 10.
But I see version 2 adds the same lens distortion correction as in
full DxO Optics Pro.
All the noise about perspective correction and volume anamorphosis
correction is unnecessary fluff if one already uses any full featured
editor. The same photo-i review show how the volume anamorphosis
correction is just a fancy name for something easily done in other
editors. <http://www.photo-i.co.uk/2013/01/dxo-viewpoint-review/3/>
I've tried this, and he is right.
My take would be that PTLens at $25 adds all that PWP is missing for
less money that $79 Viewpoint. Viewpoint's perspective correction
tools may or may not be more to your liking in the way they work than
PWPs. Take a look at Vincent's review.
