Yes, ubiquitous around here on everything. Sometimes called deer moss I suspect because it makes good winter
browse...well, not "good". For trees covered in real moss one need only go a few miles to the rain forest.
And I have a little live oak here in the yard. It's doing well.
We pull out sprouts regularly. They don't stay little. :-)
Our yard isn't big enough, but there are many nearby that we can visit.
