I shall have to correct you there, Jim, on a very important matter. :-)
About 30 years ago, an older colleague pointed out that most words that end in
‘l’ have only a single ‘l’. I know that Apple and Microsoft started some years
ago to spell ‘instal” with 2 of them, but that doesn’t mean that ‘propel’ needs
another one to match.
Among my other campaigns, I aim to eliminate these daftnesses:
‘pre-order’; 'double-check’; ‘knock-on effect’; ‘pre-prepare’; and several more
that I cannot now remember . . .
