In Thunderbird, in the echoed copy of my post, the double asterisk version displays as I typed it, but the caret version
displays as correct math notation, with the exponent in half size type, up to the right of the "10". I guess whoever
coded that part agrees with me? :-)
That's fun.
In this composition window, it's back to the caret, but anyone else using
Thunderbird will see it sans caret.
