Probably a little bit. I've done work prints with image area of 6x9.
There are a couple of trade-offs, though. The biggest trade-off is
cost. But there is the aspect of optimized enlargement for your
particular system. The more enlargement, the greater the chance of
running into film-flatness issues, enlarger vibration and optical
issues with your enlarger lenses.
And then you run into the issue of scan resolution. With the larger
print, you'll usually use a lower scan resolution and the trade-off is
that the scanner is seeing grain instead of what appears to be
continuous tone.
The biggest advantage of scanning a larger print is that you end up
with less issues of artifacts with the scanner picking up surface
issues.
It's almost a draw.
