My first thought was that it must be a homebuilt, but an on-line search
told me that it was designed and manufactured in the 1930s, then revived
a couple of times by new manufacturers because of its popularity.
Several engines were used, increasing the horsepower. Manufacturing
ceased in the 1970s.

My flush toilet has more horsepower than that.
What a cute airplane. Probably would almost be considered an
ultralight today or an LSA at minimum.
