It's free....
I do not know, but have read that MS is going the Google route, free OS that gathers user info to use/sell. Hard to
imagine why else they would kill off that income stream. But wanting to largely replace the installed, non-business base
of Win7 in a hurry implies some real benefit to MS.
Did I mention it's free (until next July)?
OK, the world is full of inexplicable things. For example, B&H is pre-selling
the new Panny 25/1.7 for $99.
Howsomever, such strangeness aside, I can't imagine MS will actually start charging for it again. Remember when Adobe
announced the one year reduced price of $10/mo for PS/LR?
About that lens deal ... A little larger, a little lighter, than the Oly 25/1.8; definitely not as cute. :-) The one
real review I see is quite positive and the MTF looks good, a tiny bit better published MTF20 than the Oly and looking
at Oly's MTF60 vs Panny's MTF40, I'm betting it's as good or better across the MTF board. Makes the MTF of my pancake
Panny 20/1.7 look like wet cardboard. Size matters, but in two directions. :-D
Cheaper list price than the Oly by $150. Of course, it's Oly and theirs is $50 off 'til Thursday, then $100 off for a
while. Still, the Oly's Ebon Friday price is three times today's price for the Panny. No indication on the B&H site of
when that deal may go away.
Such a Deal* Moose
* At least the B&H/Panny one is real. ;-)

What if the Hokey Pokey *IS* what it's all about?
