I lean Chris's way. It's such a strong composition in itself that I feel the fuzzy stuff on the bottom distracts. But
then again, I'd straighten it up, pull the top tones up to the top of the tonal range, up local contrast a bit and

Seems cleaner, purer in some sense, and I like the tones in the bowl better.
