I am spending a few days with my uncle in Atlantic Beach, near Jacksonville. My
cousin from California, also a cyclist, has been nice enough to acquire a road
bike to keep here, so that this morning I could use it to cycle down to St.
Augustine, 51 km south of here. So altogether I cycled 102 km today. In one way
it was very easy: Florida is flat as a pancake, so the ride only involved 70 m
of climbing. It was very hot, of course, in the mid-90s, but that is not too
different from my usual rides around Alicante in the summer. The challenge was
more that I had not counted on being able to ride, so I did not have my cycling
shoes or pants, so I just rode in my sneakers and gym apparent which made for
aching muscles and a sore butt at the end. But it was still great, and I met a
nice fellow cyclist from Alabama, with whom I had a nice chat and we rode a few
miles together. As often happens, the nicest part of a travel event is meeting
the people. I had my little Ricoh GR with me and the
resulting 12 photos can be seen here:

As always, comments and critique are welcome and appreciated.
