Thanks for looking, and for the story, Chris. I had seen this
aircraft's flight plans on my computer, and assumed it was a freighter.
But, I learned today that it and a sister ship are used by a Midwest
company to carry key personnel to visit outlying operations. One
happens to be a few miles away. It's a nice way to travel!

It’s a rather beautiful machine, Jim. Having a propeller on the nose would
normally be regarded as an ugly addition, but this machine is lovely. One visited our
base at RAF Wyton some years ago, appearing out of the murk in a strange fashion. It
was in gunmetal grey (stop me if I have already related this story) and looked
sinister, perhaps like a CIA model. But it was on charter to a Swedish company and
had had to divert from Cambridge airport in really horrible weather. Indeed, I had
been teaching at around 5,000ft when I noticed fog approaching the airfield and had to
perform a very swift recovery to the field, under the cloud at around 400ft; the PC-12
got in behind me, just before the fog took out the airfield.

I found a Pilatus PC-12, less than a year old, at the airport today. Since it
would be sitting in the sun all day, the crew left both doors open for
ventilation. This afforded a photo demonstrating this aircraft's utility
features. As can be seen, it is configured for hauling people. With the large
cargo door, if the seats are removed, it can carry a lot of freight, including
large objects. Overall, a very pretty, useful machine.
