Aren't these the same engineers that made choices that led to the recall
of 33 million vehicles because of airbag problems, and airbag technology
has been around for many, many years?

I know that composite pressure vessels have come a long way since I
retired over 20 yrs ago, but the idea of hydrogen at 10,000 psi in such

thrill me. Neither was I impressed with the "fueling station" image
that showed what appeared to be fill tubes consisting of small stainless
tubing. This does not appear adequate for the pressure level involved.
I've been contemplating the concept of sitting on top of a hydrogen
bomb while stuck in traffic. But I think that with the high concern
over the potential safety issues that the fuel storage system is
likely over-engineered to the point where reliability is compromised
by the multiple layers of redundancy. Considering that Toyota hit a
home run with the Prius, I'm less likely to be concerned over their
fuel-cell vehicle.
I think it would make a great Moosie-Mobile.
And if he blows, he blows.
