I'm considering buying an OM to micro 4/3 adapter. There are numerous ones
in prices from $40 to $150. Can anyone compare/contrast the fotoDiox,
Metabones (not speed booster) and the Olympus factory versions?

There are a number of offerings on evilBay:

However, I have been buying all of my adapters from Roxsen, all of which have
been of good quality and which fit snugly. Here's what they have for an OM to
u4/3 adapter:

These are all essentially the same. The body and male mount are one piece of aluminum. The female mount is aluminum with "springs" made by cutting a thin kerf in the aluminum and widening it. I have the same kind in EF to µ4/3. It works fine, for the kind of casual use of odd lens/body combos and testing I got it for. I imagine in regular use, the aluminum "springs" would start to weaken and the male mount to wear and loosen, especially with heavy lenses. I've gone in and re-tensioned similar "springs" with a small screwdriver, for short term relief.

The first one doesn't appear to be a Fotodiox Pro, not so labeled and of the same type as the rest. The Oly adapter is in a whole other league of build quality.

According to their site, Fotodiox doesn't sell a plain adapter for OM=>µ4/3, only " ...Adapter with Focal Reducing Light Gathering Optics." Interestingly, it too relies on a one piece body and rear/male mount, although the female end does have separate springs.
