I'm considering buying an OM to micro 4/3 adapter. There are numerous ones in prices from $40 to $150. Can anyone compare/contrast the fotoDiox, Metabones (not speed booster) and the Olympus factory versions?

I have only two data points, one not exactly on point. The Oly model is, as expected, as nicely made as their old OM extension tubes. All metal, solid, flat black finish inside with ribs on the interior sides to prevent reflections. Separate lens mounts on the ends of the tube appear to be chromed brass. The female end springs are separate steel pieces screwed onto the mount. I can't see any way it could be improved. Up to heavy use.

Would I have paid their price? I don't know. I got it as a promo item with
something I bought.

Fotodiox had two levels of adapter quality when I bought a Nikon F to Canon EF adapter from them. The ordinary one was reasonably priced, the Pro expensive. I bought the normal quality, and had to send it back. It was just a tiny bit too thick in one place for the lens to fit properly. Yes, I tried more than one lens and yes, careful precision is needed. But the even cheaper no name one I then bought from the 'Bay does work.

I imagine the Pro version would have worked, but it was for a sort of one shot project, not serious, ongoing use. The results were indeed interesting, showing that the ancient Nikkor-Q 200/4 is a significantly better lens than the Oly 200/4 and 200/5 - albeit a great deal larger and heavier.

My experience with a few things from Fotodiox is mixed. They are in the US, and have excellent customer service, but not everything they sell is first rate or really properly described. I've returned the above adapter and a case that didn't fit what they said it would.
