No you don’t. I never go on the beach. I hate sand, and I dislike water. The
only time I visit the beach is a few miles south of Benidorm, Villajoyosa, when
I take a brief break on the beach promenade when out cycling.
That said, Benidorm is not a bad place. The beaches are nice and only a few km
of the coast have been built up. This is why the hotels are so tall—everyone
wants a sea view, and the only way to do that is to build tall. Benidorm
probably has more tall buildings than either Madrid or Barcelona even though it
is a fraction of their size.
