I've been following along on this thread, just to see what people have been
using, more than anything else. I'm interested to see the range of choices,
and sure that many different things fit different folks uses. Personally,
I'm using Digikam (vhttps://www.digikam.org/) on Linux (but it is also
available on Windows, Mac OS/X and BSD). Just a heads up for those who may
not be aware of it. It's updated frequently, and has most (if not all) of
the features I have seen mentioned along the way, here. One of the features
I like best is the ability to multiply tag multiple images. Just uploaded a
bunch of new photos? Select them in individually or in groups, apply the
appropriate tags (new or existing) and they are all marked. Very fast way
to get the job done. It also supports Geocoding, but I can't recall at
present if that's available for applications to multiple images
simultaneously. Worth checking out (it's free/open source), perhaps.
