While I was watching the glider and skydiving activity at the airport
today, this sight from the 1950s taxiied over to the gas pumps. This is
a Cessna 170B from 1954, although the registration shows the original
Continental 145hp engine has been replaced with a Lycoming O-360 of
180hp. The pilot, who was certainly older than the airplane, was
preflighting the aircraft for a Sunday flight.
