Condolences, Paul. I was laid off last May. Spent my time while collecting
unemployment looking for a job, then decided to pull the plug at the end of
it and just retire. Don't know about your area, but in SoCal there were way
too many young guys willing to work much more cheaply than this old IT guy
to have many prospects.
The wife and I are fortunate. We already had plans to retire to San Felipe,
Baja, and she is eligible for her retirement in just 8 more days, so we're
done, and looking forward to having much more time for us.
