I noted that, as well. And it took full-sized flash bulbs, either Press
40s or GE 11s. I'm not sure how the flash timing was handled, but it
worked. I suppose it worked because these bulbs had a very flat
profile, similar to a focal plane shutter bulb. I also used them with
the synchronizer that I had for my Leica IIIa.
