All your input will be considered and hopefully put to good use.
Yes, it's a tough image to decide how to crop. There's more than one reasonable
solution.
Howsomever, The first thing that struck the old Eagle Eye was the bright white halo on the taller steeple, then that it
was all along the horizon like, to greater and lesser extent.
I really dislike haloed horizons. In part, of course, because I'm particularly sensitive to them. But I also think they
detract from the feeling of rightness or naturalness for other viewers, even if they aren't specifically noticed.

THANKS all
I'll try to finetune all this next weekend.
In the meantime, here's the link to the semi-original file, in colour, if any
one of you felt like playing with it a bit :-)

Here you provided me a nice opportunity to show more clearly what I'm talking about. Semi-original means here, I hope,
already partially processed. I like to hope that the Fuji Raw files and whatever converter you are using don't make halos.
Anyway, here's an enlarged crop that illustrates the halos.

It's fairly easy, but tedious, to correct them after the fact on simple edges, as illustrated. But notice how they
affect the trees, even brightening the view of sky through them. I believe this makes the image look unnatural.
They can be avoided with careful, proper processing technique.

What if the Hokey Pokey *IS* what it's all about?
