Thanks Chris and Rick,
The first thing I did before I did anything else was to replace the old dead
batteries with a new set of Energizer 357 batteries. These are silver oxide
batteries that replace the originals. When I said that I did the initial
firing of the shutter and it was working, was with the new batteries. After
approximately 20 working shutter releases, then the mirror locked.
Batteries are not dead as I put those new batteries into my other OM-2 body
and it works there. With the batteries removed on the 2S, the shutter and
mirror still work when shutter is at 1/60, as it is supposed to do.
I could not find the "stickies" on the mailing list that Rick mentions. Are
they located somewhere special? I am trying to find info now with the
search function. Thanks so far.
Cy

Use Silver Oxide batteries, not lithium or Alkaline; The OM2S kills
Alkalines and Lithiums quickly.
