Strange. I dunno how I landed on the cormorant between the chaffinches.

Thanks Chuck,
However you seem to have landed in the wrong place as the three pixes of the now
identified bird feature a chaffinch …
Thanks anyway to all of you bird connoisseurs :-)

#2 is a cormorant but I don't know the species... there are many. Note the little
hook at the end of the bill. They are fish eaters and swim under water to catch them.

A close relative in my part of the world and south down into South America is the
anhinga <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anhinga> They are also fish eaters and
swim under water to catch them. But note the needle sharp bill (no hook on the end).
The long neck aids the anhinga in striking fish like a snake. They impale the fish
on their beaks, bring it to the surface and flip their heads upward to dislodge the
fish and catch it in their mouths on the way down.
#3 I haven't a clue

That one seems to be a chaffinch, Philippe. Perhaps he has seen something on
the glass that looks like food and is trying to get at it.

Could any of you help us put a name onto this species,
