Thanks, Charlie. It looks like a sleek machine there as well, but it does talk
about a shrouded tail rotor. Perhaps that was only early in the design process.
I note that it has a 4 axis autopilot. I spoke to a SAR pilot yesterday, one
of my trainees, who told me that they always use the autopilot over the sea or
in the dark – one more protection against inadvertent descent at a critical
moment in the hover.
