Why are they grown?
Originally only for the bulbs. The family immigrated from Netherlands
after WWII. In highschool I worked in the fields with the kids who now
run the business. They have since diversified into cut flowers, etc. It
has become a major regional tourist draw and there are huge traffic jams
on weekends with visitors in the six figures. Park if you can ind a spot
and take your bike in to the fields.
