There's still more room to go for sensitive sensors. Currently, sensors filter
out unwanted
colour from each pixel, throwing it away. If they had a prism to actually
separate out the
colours, then maybe light sensitivity could be tripled, and if they had more
sensors along the
spectrum, colour accuracy could be improved at the same time.
But final answer: Size matters.
