Interesting, but I still like the conversions better. Perhaps it’s because I’m
hobbled by a lack of depth in my understanding of film and its relationships
with color and monochrome. My interest is mainly in whether the image pleases
me, or informs me. When looking at the work of others, I’m disinclined to pop
the hood to look at the engine.
