Depends. Here, it's spelled i-n-k-j-e-t. On an artist's webpage it's spelled

To me, it's spelled 'pretentious' with overtones of 'clueless' The word is French, formally means something like
'spurt', but is also slang for ejaculate, you know, that fluid full of sperm.
I learned this long ago, possibly in Harald Johnson's excellent book, "Mastering Digital Printing", but see that it's in
Wikipedia, as well, which is easier to reference on line. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gicl%C3%A9e>
I guess it could refer to a way for a male artist to sign their work, to assure
authenticity. ;-)
It's fun when a newly invented word or usage of a foreign word may be traced
exactly to its origin.
All this may, I suppose, be why the Philippe gently suggests "jet d'encre"?
