Rant alert;
I recently found out that the DOS Spreadsheet programs I worked with
many years ago are infinitely better at macros than the new
spreadsheets. Alright maybe infinitely is a little strong. We were using
Lotus 123 to collect data, importing, sorting, parsing, a lot of
repetitious work. Lotus had the ability to create macros by recording
and saving keystrokes, IIRC it was the 'Hot Feature' of the era. Easy to
create, easy to edit, even had a step mode for editing. Can't be done in
today’s programs. Today's programs will record the keystrokes for the
macro(?), but if you wish to edit it, best know how to program Basic.

This reminds me of your laments about running older, 16 bit programs.
I may have mentioned before the virtual WinXP feature of Win7Pro.
