Nothing is as piercing as the scream from a T-37 engine. Try to imagine
50,000 fingernails screaching across a chalk board. That's just the beginning.
The GPU on the early C-130s (prior to the H model) was made by Garrett, as
were most of the pneumatic starters (others were made by Bendix). They were
nowhere near as loud, though they had the same basic centrifugal flow
compressor design.
