Thanks Moose, that was it, it actually required quite a bit more force to
click on than the LH-55B, so all secure now.

Turned all the way on? There's a click at the end with mine, on both 12-50
and 9-18. May have been a little stiff, first time? And it is then on
firmly. It it isn't quite square to the camera, it's not turned all the way
on.
I bought a second, so as to have one for each lens, and both fit securely.
If yours doesn't, it's faulty, and should be returned.
I'm loving the way it reverses on the 9-18, a real space and fuss saver in
my bag.
