An excellent scripting program to create batch programs for windows, to
automate things that were not designed for normal batch files, is open source
Autoit.
https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/
I was using this some years back to automate a complex medical database
application and it is amazing how you can use it to automate things
specifically designed not to automatable!
There are lots of scripting environments, some even already installed on
Windoz, like Vbscript, but Autoit is very much better at dealing with GUI issues
on existing apps.
You can even use it to create normal GUI menus etc.

Thanks! How quickly one forgets. I used to be a whiz at .bat files. Now, I'm
slow and uncertain.

Seems OK here for displaying EXIF, ver. 5.15.00. It does seem like editing is
kludgier than before, though.

For fixed data for several files, especially if often repeated, the above batch
file technique is far faster than
individual editing. You could have a Send To entry named BigFoot, for example,
that would fill in lens model and max
aperture for all the shots with that lens in a folder in one swell foop.
