You aren't reading the whole thread. It all started with a claim that the new body would do 40MP images By combining non
IS images taken at full extensions in the four directions of the IS mechanism.
So yes to your question - for IS. I calculated that it would require about an order of magnitude more movement to get 40
MP from a 16MP sensor that the current IS moves, and thus that, if the rumor is correct, A considerably higher pixel
count sensor would be required, or a much larger sensor box.
