I'm very glad you mentioned all this. The installation of PS CC, Bridge
CC and Lightroom 5.7 gave me no information at all about exactly what
had been installed. I suspected nothing since it did not install
desktop icons for PS CC or Bridge CC. It did install the CC update icon
but put it in a place where I hadn't noticed it. It also updated the
version on the Lightroom icon's name but I hadn't noticed that either.
When I started Photoshop after the install I noticed nothing different
at let it pass. I noticed nothing different because I was still running
PS CS6 not realizing that PS CC was a totally different app with nothing
on the desktop to identify it.
Now that I just started PS CC it asked me if I wanted to migrate
(something I don't recall) from CS6. I said yes hoping my plug-ins
would migrate. But apparently nothing migrated at all including the
locations of the last images I was working on. So I have to locate all
that stuff again and at least move it.
Thanks again for the head up. I suspected none of this.
ps: I'm not on a monthly plan yet. I did the upgrade through Olympus
which gave me a 15% discount but required paying the full year.

My 12th payment just was charged. I've as yet heard nothing about any
change in monthly rate. My impression is that they are keeping it the same.
The reality is slightly different than you might imagine. There have
been several incremental updates to PS. Then a few months ago, they
releases a serious upgrade, which installed just like the old upgrades,
as a new, stand alone version, leaving the old one there until you
choose to uninstall it.
Annoyingly enough, they said I had to reinstall all my plug-ins from
scratch, not just copy them to the right folder. Fortunately, they were
wrong; all the oldies work fine just copied. As I recall, I had to
reinstall one? I did have to install Perfect Resize, but that was for a
problem with it in Actions, which was the same in old and new versions.
They pointed me to a newer sub versions. Still screws up in Actions.

I just did it. I have no idea what's in what I downloaded and installed.

When it was first announced the emails I received at least implied that
I had a very limited time to sign up to ensure the $9.95 price. That
time period passed long ago and I still get an email about once/week
urging me to sign up for that price. But I think I'll do it soon.
