To Moose: You say you carry the camera around your neck. But you also say you carry 2 cameras. Are they both around
your neck??
Yup. there are witnesses hereabouts, maybe even a piccie. Obviously I have a
bull neck compared to AG. :-)
Shows what lengths I'll go to to avoid a lot of lens changing. I know I get many shots at the 'right' FL that I'd either
fudge at another FL or skip altogether, if I had to switch lenses. It's not at all uncommon for me to swap between
cameras very actively as we ramble along.
In a way, it's all the 75-300's fault. I was doing pretty well with 14-150 until the long gun came along. That, macro
without changing lenses and 12 mm WA tipped the scales. It started out with the rather tiny, light E-PM2 as second body,
but, well ...
I haven't weighed them, but it's somehow less burdensome than the single big Canons were, maybe the distribution over
two straps? Maybe just the joy of having what I want at hand when I want it?
Worse yet, if I'm heading out into the 'woods', I also carry a small shoulder bag with at least 9-18, 60/2.8 Macro,
small binoculars, spare batteries and cards, phone charger (I use the phone for GPS tracking.) lens caps, wipes, etc.
I don't know how much wandering you do. We are often off on mile to five mile walk/hikes, and I'm carrying all the
above, a water bottle and not uncommonly a tripod. It's a lot of stuff, but without it I don't get the shots I want. :-)
You can see why I'm so fussy about tripod weight. Around home, as a few minutes ago, I'll grab the Manfrotto CF, but to
haul about on my body, the much lighter Velbon goes along.
Crazy? Dedicated?
