Yep. We are a waskelly lot. (That’s an attempt at Elmer Fudd’s pronunciation of
rascally.)
Truth be told, I eschew adverbs whenever I’m writing with some degree of care.
They have their place, but it’s mostly in the tool kit rather than in the hand.
And I don’t mind splitting infinitives, but I draw the line at splitting
infinity.
