For two months now I've been hearing PT7ZT from Brazil on 20m. Always
booming in at 59, sometimes 15 over. And every time I spend an hour
trying to break through the pileup, not an easy feat for a guy running
barefoot into a ground-mounted vertical with (so far) insufficient
radials buried, in between two buildings. Plus there is a row of 80-foot
trees to the South.
Finally, last night, after 2 hours of trying, he finally came back to
me. Two solid hours of calling every time he said, "QRZ?" I almost
wasn't prepared when he said, "The WD9 Golf station - please go".
So, another country in the logs. And I gave him something as well - he
collects counties, and doesn't have Porter County, IN yet. Now he does.
Now, I need to order some QSL cards right away...
