Thanks for looking and commenting all. Eagle -eyed Moose is corect
about the slight front focus on the one but it seems to hold up at
viewing size OK. It is tough to nail the focus at F8 or 11 though the
VF but I don't have any lens that renders quite as nicely for largish
B'flys. I don't think focus peaking works very well on the A7(r)
stopped down but mag LV would likely be much better.
Philippe is correct about the hazards of the journey. I provided lunch
and reminded the two in our yard to bring their passports, but the
journey is very long and treacherous. It would be nice if their great
grandchildren (or GG GC) do make it back for a visit. I believe it is
the 3rd or 4th generation that finally make it back to New England. The
photographed visitors are the long lived generation that migrate back
and have to survive the winter in Mexico and make it a bit north in
spring to breed. I wish them luck as they will need it.
