Thanks for correcting my error. I had completely forgotten about the
addition of phase detect AF on the E-M1 which, as you have pointed out,
makes it possible for Brian to use his existing 4/3 lenses while
maintaining good focusing speed. The additional price of the E-M1 and
an adapter will more than pay for not having to buy an equivalent flock
of lenses.

Brian, as I recall, you have at least the 14-54, 40-150 and 30 mm macro
4/3 lenses. With one of the Oly MMF-x adapters or a third party adapter,
these lenses should work as well on an E-M1 as on the E-3, focusing at
least as fast.
That should cut your cost to upgrade. The native µ4/3 lenses are smaller
and lighter, but unlikely any better for your purposes than what you have.
