I've often thought of joining the legions of retired Americans who are
living elsewhere. Not sure if I could make a go of it. Here my house is paid
for, as is everything else. So I'm able to live comfortably on social security
with much room to spare. I doubt that I could live as well financially outside
the US.
If I were to do so, my first choice would be France so that I could return
to enjoying decent food.
