Well, I was just focussing my Canon EF 100/2.8 Macro, the sharpest lens I
have...
Okay, actually I was just whittling some bark off a branch held in my left
hand, and foolishly pulled the blade towards me. It caught then released on
a knot and then that first joint of my finger stopped its progress (the
other cuts that join that cut are the surgeon's). Unfortunately it went
through the nerve & artery, so I had to have the plastic surgeon rejoin the
nerve. There's quite a bit of subsequent physio to avoid scar tissue in and
out from locking up tendons and constricting skin, and also some to try
maximise return of some feeling on one side of the finger (and reduce the
weird nerve pain).
Short answer: I'm one of Australia's most dangerous animals (to myself).
Cheers,
Marc
