Don't get me started on intelligent (or not) numbering systems. I spent
many years of my working life managing such things for a big telcom
manufacturing company and I'm so happy to be retired.
Yes, the birth cert register number is the same as the 3 digits of my old
NHS number, but I'm not sure how they derived the 4 letters?
