Does the US keep exclusively with miles, yards, feet and inches because too

No, but because we think the rationalism of the 18th. century French, high on revolution, went too far, resulting in a
crock that denies the natural measures developed to human proportions over prior centuries.
And it's nowhere near exclusive. The vast majority of manufacturing is metric,
etc.
