I literally know and have known a couple of [more or
less famous] Dutch and Flemish authors, but never had the honour of
meeting mister Beckett.
So my knowing him has been limited by reading
his plays and visiting theaters where those plays were performed.
[My
knowledge of the English language is rather limited, so perhaps my using
of the verb 'to know' was a bit misleading]
Although I still didn't
'know' he was an actor too.

Dharma, the
inference I took from the story about that photo was not that he had
been acting, but merely present at the theatre - maybe to supervise the
production of one of his plays.
