Went to the local county fair last week. Was really disappointed this year
- the number of food vendors was way down, and the midway was a real
disappointment for night photography of the lights and rides. In fact, the
only one lit well enough to shoot was the Ferris Wheel. The top 4 photos
here are from the fair:

I shared the cat photos last night.
There are three new photos in the music gallery - my dear friend Dan
Navarro played another show for me at the theatre on July 20th (yeah, I'm a
little behind). I had recommended my other friend Mike Aquino several
years back when he was looking for a local guitarist to play with him. The
chemistry was immediate, and they became great friends and now Mike plays
with Dan any time he's in the Chicago area.

Chicago is home to Rev. Louis Farrakhan, a militant leader of the Nation of
Islam. Without getting into politics, he's known for saying some very
unpopular things, including things that make me, as a generic white guy,
uncomfortable every time I drive past his church, the Mosque Maryam. Last
time I was at Robie House, I planned ahead, had the camera ready, and
pulled into the median on Stoney Island Avenue to grab a photo of the star
atop the dome.

And finally, two delightful young ladies were making funnel cakes at the
fair. Sheri and I decided to be sensible and share one.

Enjoy. C&C as always encouraged.
