You may not have to worry about forwarding as long as the ISP's email system allows for email programs like Outlook to access it. You can usually set gmail and other clients to reach in and retrieve the email just like Outlook does. This is standard fare stuff. Forwarding is something that not just your ISP is putting a stop too.
