Trying to process E5 ORF raw file images through PS CS5 or Bridge CS5 is
proving to be a recent problem not only on my desktop but also on a
notebook. Hopefully someone who has been through these hoops before
could advise me what I am doing wrong.
In PS I get this message when trying to open an ORF file:
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be
from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of
camera raw."
and likewise through Bridge.
With the ORF file highlighted in Bridge the following error message
comes up when I try to open the file in camera raw:
"The Photoshop camera raw plug-in did not recognized the format of
one or more files. If these files are from a camera you may need to
update your version of the Photoshop camera raw plug-in."
When I go to the Help/Updates menu in Photoshop I am downloaded the
following updates:
Adobe Bridge CS5 4.0.5 update
Adobe Extension Manager CS5 5.0 update
Photoshop 12.0.4 for Photoshop CS5
Photoshop Camera Raw 6.7 update
Against EACH of these updates is written:
"There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try
again later."
The E5 and various lenses have all got the latest firmware installed.
The installed version of camera raw in my PS CS5 is version 6.0.0.205
My copy of CS5 is an update version [having used CS4 and CS3 previous]
and the serial number has been registered with Adobe.
This is the first time I have experienced any of these issues with PS
and Bridge CS5In order to process my ORF files into TIFF format I have
turned to a downloaded and legitimate copy of "reaConverter 7 Standard"
which I find is a much faster ORF processor than Adobe camera raw and
also processes Fuji RAF files along with many ot5her raw formats.
However, I would like to my CS5 fully functional with camera raw working
as intended.
As it stands my E5 images are not recognized by PS or Bridge and I am
unable to get the four updates downloaded and installed.
As in the past when I had no problems I am still running ESET security
and Malwarebytes
Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?
Thanks
John Hudson
