After a week of business travel followed by a week of cycling around Denmark, I
am finally coming up for air and getting through the backlog of images. We
start with Rome, where I was on July 7 and 8. I arrived at lunchtime on the 7th
and had the rest of that day free. I have no idea how many km I walked, but it
was enough to give me blisters even though I was wearing an old and very
comfortable pair of shoes. Never mind, it was worth it. As opposed to previous
trips to Rome, I was on my own and under no obligation to see the "must see"
sights. So I stayed well clear of the Vatican, the Coliseum, the Forum and so
on. Since my hotel was 100 metres from the Trevi Fountain, I could not quite
avoid that one, and I also passed a couple of places which are popular with
tourists, like Campo de Fiori and Piazza Navona. But still, this was by far my
most enjoyable walk in Rome, ever, and I hope that I captured at least some of
it in these images:
