The 18mm was my first Fuji lens and I was so impressed I bought many
others :-) however as I have the 14mm now I would always use that over
the 18mm, tthe 23mm is my general walkaround. I think the firmware mods
have slowly fixed the criticisms you had apart from maybe speed, but
that's also improved from the original and the updates keep coming, for
me speed wasn't a priority over the benefits but I am hoping the XT-1
improves on that enough so I can rid myself of the canyon gear.
The 56mm is next on my list but I will need to sell stuff or at least
promise to myself that I will sell, before ordering.
llandudno is where we are headed, climate change means its always sunny
there now (and without mossies) except at christmas :-)

I may jump for the 56mm as i tend be a portraitist rather than landscaper. One
wide would be enough, probably the 18mm so I was hoping for a comment that it
is small, cheap and viciously sharp. Ah well.
The Sugru is neat (I have some in the freezer) but totally different in what
way? Have the firmware updates done the business?
North Wales? It rains there all the time doesn't it (early childhood holidays
in Llandudno).
Looks like I'll be in the UK in August and early Oct. at this stage (imminent
first Grandchild, London).
The Obsession 135 I haven't used much. Dean is still alive and kicking - doing
well. He's retired to the country so that he doesn't bequeath his partner a
mortgage but apparently, in the chemo programme he was in, he's the last man
standing.
